hello i’m alive!

Obviously, I suck at maintaining a website haha. But I am still active online, just not on here! You can visit me at my art blog on blogspot for regular updates – here – if you are interested in my life at all, haha. To be honest, I haven’t been making pixels and graphics for a while now, and I doubt I will pick it up again. I’ve just been too busy with my art and ~*~*life*~*~… IT’S BEEN FUN THOUGH! As for the future of HUE… I will be back with a new layout! (YES, seriously, I will dooo it I promise… just for my sanity and because I miss webdesignin’) woooo. Quick little update!

Thought I’d leave a little update welcoming the Cambodian New Year, even though it’s a few days late. Khmer New Year marks the 2555th year in the Buddhist calendar and welcomes the Year of the Rabbit. I hope all my visitors have/are having a great start to 2011 and are enjoying the beautiful weather (or not) wherever you may be! My first year at college will be over in about months time… crazy! As much as I love New York City, I can’t wait to go back home and enjoy the summer. I’ll be visiting Korea, Cambodia, and Barcelona this year! AHH thoo excited. I know I only update this site once I get a big break but I guess that’s just how it’s going to be from now. I’m too busy during the year to even sleep! ready for the holidays

so anxiously awaiting my much deserved break. projects after projects after projects is driving me insane. cannot wait to lie in my own bed, eat good korean food, and cuddle with my dog. i’m also spending my first christmas in a long time with my dad and my whole family in cambodia. yay! i desperately miss having sunkissed shoulders and a good cocktail in my hand. ok… that was a quick update. back to working on my imaging final while listening to billie holiday. check out my deviantart for progress pictures! much love

So Art school is definitely no joke. I’m not up to that point yet when I can’t even find the time to eat, but it’s enough work to make me forget about having a relaxed weekend. But the plus side is I’m actually really enjoying Computer Animation! That’s how it’s supposed to be isn’t it? If you’re going to kill yourself over learning something new, you might as well enjoy the process right? We’re working with Maya right now and it’s superrr confusing but I think I’m finally getting the hang of it. I can only do as much as animating a cube with a face, making it squash and twist and turn… but even that was entertaining. Maybe I just get amused easily. Maybe this is the right major for me after all?

For those of you who like electronic beats and a good soulful vocals will really enjoy Suzi Analogue. I was really feeling her NNXTAPE album, which is up for download by the way. It reminded me of a mix between obscure beats from Flying Lotus and vocals by Badu. My favorite songs on that album are We Cannot Hide, 1994 Freestyle, and Ex Machina… so check them out! officially a college student!

I had my first class today: Introduction To Imaging And Techniques! *O* The course is basically on how to use Illustrator, Photoshop and other imaging programs… The professor literally taught us everything from scratch (starting with how to make a square -_-), but it’s a required course for my foundations Computer Animation major. We’re going to be doing more complex things later like designing video game covers and all that fun stuff, but right now we’re just learning (or re-learning in my case) the basics. It’s funny because my mom would always get mad at me for drawing on the computer all day, but now that’s all I’ll be doing! Anyways, here’s something I did for an in class assignment today. We had to draw a simple flower pot using shape creation tools and warp/distortion tools. I went star-happy with the polygon shape, I know. Okay. I don’t know when I’ll update this again since classes just started and I’ll probably be swamped by the end of this week… so I’ll just leave you guys with a picture of me and my Moomin! He holds all my quarters.

i’m back!

So I finally got wordpress installed on my blog thanks to the help of the lovely Rebecca! I can’t believe the last time I updated this site was over 3 years ago. Since then, the biggest thing I probably accomplished in the real world was graduating high school. Can you believe 4 years ago I was just starting high school? Whoa. Anyways I have finally left Korea and I’m in New York right now attending the School of Visual Arts to study Computer Art and Animation! Really nervous but super excited *o*

I just wanted to say thank you to all my visitors over the past few years. I recently went through a lot of personal sites I used to frequent when I was active on teh internetz and I was really happy/shocked when I saw my buttons on some people’s link pages. Kind of inspired me to keep this page up. So I hope you guys like what I did to the site and the new layout. I know it’s really… lacking of content and substance right now. I wiped out the visitor content section because I’m planning on redoing most of it. I’ll add some new cool shit shoooons I promise. In the mean time, enjoy!
